Valkyrie Creator, Crohn’s Warrior & Ostomate.

I live in the beautiful county of Dorset. I enjoy walking this amazing countryside and being in my workshop creating new ideas. What started as an idea to be creative and have my own space has now turned into something so much more. Valkyrie came about one afternoon while out walking with my daughter, I wanted to create handmade custom jewellery that would inspire, empower and uplift people during times of struggle. I was Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease over 15 years ago and now live with an ileostomy – So I know first hand what its like to live with an invisible illness. Valkyrie is about making people feel good about themselves though words that inspire, raise awareness and make you feel strong.

WHAT IS A VALKYRIE

n Norse mythology, a valkyrie (/vælˈkɪəri, –ˈkaɪri, vɑːl-, ˈvælkəri/;^[1] from Old Norse valkyrja [ˈwɑlˌkyrjɑ], “chooser of the slain”) is one of a host of female figures who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live. Selecting among half of those who die in battle go to Fólkvangr, Freyjas afterlife, the other half go to the god Odin’s hall called Valhalla.

AWARENESS MATTERS

During the first week of starting Valkyrie, i decided that raising awareness for invisible illnesses was going to be a huge part of what i wanted to do. Soon I came to realise it wasn’t just the people I could relate to that needed Awareness – it was all of you. what started with crohn’s & colitis awareness soon expanded to all sorts of awareness causes, i now have over 50 awareness messages in my etsy shop with custom orders being made every week too.
